Let's get started

We realize that no two people are the same and as such tailor our therapy to meet the specific needs of our clients. Whether you are struggling with trauma, addiction/substance use, disordered eating, LGBTQIA+ issues, anxiety, depression, or any other issue; we will help you recognize underlying problems, fully realize your strengths and adjust certain thoughts and behaviors to see things in a more helpful and healthier way.

Our practice specializes in treating individuals, couples and families; and we offer comprehensive services in the following areas:

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy focuses foremost on building a strong therapeutic relationship and is particularly helpful for those individuals looking to work on trauma, relationship issues, addictions, eating disorders/body image issues, anxiety, depression, ACOA/codependency, self-esteem issues, LGBTQ+ issues, etc.

Couples and Family Therapy

One of the most common reasons for conflict in couples and families is difficulty communicating and understanding what is happening within one another’s inner-world in a manner that allows each individual to feel heard and seen. In working with couples and families, we provide a safe and compassionate forum for you to work through conflicts and deepen your connections.

Counseling for Trauma

Trauma can be looked at as any life event that overwhelms our ability to cope and it can have a profound physical and emotional impact on a person. Most people will experience trauma in their lifetime, whether as a one-time occurrence, such as a car accident or natural disaster, or repeated exposure to stressful or traumatic situations, such as child abuse/neglect or domestic violence.

While many people can recover from trauma over time with the love and support of family and friends and "bounce back" with resiliency, others may discover the effects of lasting trauma, which can cause a person to live with deep emotional pain, fear, confusion, or posttraumatic stress far after the event has passed

EMDR

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and is a powerful psychotherapy method used to help individuals heal from trauma and other distressing life experiences. EMDR therapy has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma.

Trauma can be looked at as any life event that overwhelms our ability to cope and therefore leads to maladaptive / dysfunctional storage of memories. EMDR helps to “turn the volume down” on distressing memories by supporting the brain’s natural healing process in a positive and rapid way leading to the sense of peaceful resolution.

NARM®

Developmental trauma, stemming from early relational experiences, can profoundly impact our sense of self and ability to navigate the world. Through the lens of NARM®, we explore how these early experiences shape our nervous system and relational patterns, often leading to maladaptive coping mechanisms and symptoms such as addiction, disordered eating, somatization, anxiety, and depression.

LGBTQIA+ Individual Therapy

If you or a loved-one lives outside of the heteronormative-cisgender box, and you believe you could benefit from stigma-free and affirming therapy tailored to members of the LGBTQIA+ community, we're likely a great fit for you!

No matter how you identify on the myriad of spectrums related to gender, sexuality, gender-expression; or if you are an ally wanting to understand how to best support loved ones who identify with the LGBTQ+ community, it is likely you could benefit from having a safe space to process your feelings and clarify and achieve your goals.

Counseling for Substance Abuse/Addiction

Whether you recognize that you have been using chemicals to cope with difficulties in your life and would benefit from creating a plan to cut back, or you are looking to abstain entirely and think you’d benefit from support in creating a life in sobriety, it can be incredibly helpful to have the support of a specialized addiction therapist on your journey.

Counseling for Disordered Eating

Our relationships with food and our bodies can be shaped by a number of life experiences. Whether we learned to manipulate our food and/or our bodies as means of feeling more of a sense of control about life situations, or we pressured ourselves to fit certain molds of "ideal" body size/shape based on cultural messaging; many find that they have strayed from healthy and sustainable relationships with food and their bodies and would benefit from the support of a therapist to reconnect and heal their food and exercise patterns.

Counseling for Friends & Family of Individuals with Substance Abuse/Addiction

More often than not, drug addictions start with experimental use of a drug in social situations. And for some people, drug use becomes more frequent. As time passes, a person may feel the need to use more of a drug to get their desired high, and soon a person may need the drug to simply feel “good.” When we see this happen to a loved one, we do everything we can to help. But sometimes, our unconditional love simply isn’t enough. If your loved one comes to mind with any of the above symptoms and behaviors, it may be time to consider addiction counseling.

Counseling for Friends & Family of Individuals with Disordered Eating

While individuals who are either actively engaging in patterns of disordered eating or who are in the early stages of recovery require considerable support, family members are often left to suffer in silence in the background. Witnessing a loved one manipulate their relationship with food and struggle to maintain healthy habits can be traumatic, confusing and evoke strong feelings of helplessness.

Counseling for Friends & Family of Trauma Survivors

Bearing witness to a loved one's trauma and/or experiencing the lasting impact of unresolved trauma can be heartbreaking, chaotic and evoke strong feelings of helplessness. It's okay for you to seek help too.

Therapy for Therapists

While we are often mistakenly thought of as being immune to needing professional support, therapists also benefit tremendously from doing their own clinical and therapeutic work. Our mission is to create a safe, nurturing space where you can explore your own emotional landscape, navigate professional challenges, and cultivate deeper self-awareness to enhance your effectiveness in supporting your clients.

Professional Consultation

Staying well informed through consultation allows us to learn new techniques and engage in enriching connection to help both our client's and ourselves. We all need support and consulting with other professionals can offer fresh perspectives and alternative viewpoints.

Telehealth

Telehealth allows us to provide counseling and therapy to our clients via live video conferencing. This can be done anywhere you have a computer or smartphone.
